This workshop is for anyone in a support role caring for people with disabilities of any age.  Using person centered practices, we will explore how to support someone during self-care tasks and activities such as preparing meals, housework, and navigating their community. There will also be time for participants to share their own “tips and tools”! 

Our growing toolbox of support strategies include: 

• Using a person-centered approach to care
• How routines and visual information can be used to increase independence
• Examples of how to set up a comfortable and supportive environment
• Resources for supporting accessibility and accommodations
• Shared tips and tools to support a person with their ADLs/IADLs
