My name is Zian Chavez and I want to share with you a New Disability documentary and we’re based in Portland!!! This is our time to SHINE!!!
Our groundbreaking, social justice documentary is called, We are the Most Beautiful People | Adults with Disabilities, created by three Portland filmmakers with varying disabilities. We’re having a 2nd screening at Hollywood Theatre on Sunday June 22nd at 2pm.
We are the Most Beautiful People challenges societal norms, exploring the profound themes of ableism, racism, intersectionality, and the distinction between Disability Rights and Disability Justice in the U.S. This is the first film uniting a minority, the largest minority, Persons with Disabilities, that spans the globe.
This film is so important, now more than ever! Our last screening sold out in one day. Get your tickets now for our Final Cut Screening June 22nd 2:00pm at Hollywood Theatre (<- link to Hollywood to purchase tickets).
The film has collaborated with local disability organizations, United Cerebral Palsy Oregon and WA, Community Vision, PHAME, and North Pole Studio, along with many organizations and individuals from around the world.
Participants of the Arts for All program can purchase tickets for a discounted price.
Note: The Hollywood Theatre is a historic building that has limited accessibility in its ground-level bathrooms. ADA-compliant restrooms are available to all Hollywood customers at adjoining businesses in the building. The theatre hopes to address these ADA issues with forthcoming renovations.
