A Ship’s Christmas Tree Art Workshop (Astoria)

Join the Education Department with this hands-on opportunity to explore holidays at sea!

Visitors will get crafty by constructing Christmas trees inspired by the true story of a 1900s sailing ship’s DIY holiday.

Both classes will feature hot cocoa and holiday-themed cookies! This event will take place in the Barbey Maritime Center (2042 Marine Drive).

The museum offers two (2) sensory backpacks that can be used while on site as well as three (3) additional noise cancelling headphones. A sensory map of the museum as well as a social story are available on the website, linked here. We have two (2) wheelchairs that can be used within the museum too. All these are free resources to make your visit more comfortable.
