Fear About a Link Between Vaccines and Autism: How the Myth Affects Our Reality

Dr. Robin Kochel, Ph.D.

Autism Center, Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine

Dr. Robin Kochel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Psychology Section, at Baylor College of Medicine and Associate Director for Research at the Autism Center at Texas Children’s Hospital. She serves as PI for several studies examining various facets of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as collaborates on projects involving phenotypic characterization of individuals with genetic mutations associated with ASD. Her most current program of research explores beliefs about causes of ASD and how these perceptions influence health-related decisions parents make on behalf of their families, including vaccination practices.
