Dr. Kim received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University of Michigan and completed postdoctoral training at Yale University Child Study Center. Currently\, she is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Kim has led the development of the new treatment outcome measure for ASD\, the Brief Observation of Social Communication Change (BOSCC) as well as a new language measure\, the Observation of Spontaneous Expressive Language (OSEL)\, in collaboration with Dr. Catherine Lord. Currently\, she is a PI of a NIMH funded project designed to examine the mechanisms of early\, parent-mediated interventions for toddlers with ASD. Most recently\, Dr. Kim has led efforts to examine school readiness in kindergarteners with ASD while integrating behavioral and electrophysiological (ERP/EEG) methods\, with a particular focus on executive function. \n  \nLive stream & past recordings: http://bit.ly/ORCASeminars2019

SUMMARY:Towards understanding phenotypic heterogeneity in ASD: Developing a Behavioral\, Imaging\, and Genetic Collaboration
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday April 25\, 2018 \n10:30 AM-12:00 PM ; OHS 8B60 Auditorium \nTowards understanding phenotypic heterogeneity in ASD: Developing a Behavioral\, Imaging\, and Genetic Collaboration\nPresenter \nPr. Fred Sabb\, Ph.D. \nUniversity of Oregon \nDirector of the Lewis Center for Neuroimaging \n  \nFred Sabb\, PhD is the Director of the Lewis Center for Neuroimaging at the University of Oregon.  His work focuses broadly on examining component processes of cognitive control\, their interaction and change throughout the lifespan using functional magnetic resonance imaging as well as online/mobile behavioral assessment. He is particularly interested in using studies that elucidate the neurobiology of cognitive control and its maturational trajectory throughout middle-childhood and adolescence\, to develop novel therapeutic targets for intervention that cross symptom and disorder boundaries.

SUMMARY:Narratives of Autism and Skilled Employment to Inform Future Intervention
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday January 24\, 2018 \n10:30 AM-12:00 PM ; OHS 8B60 Auditorium \nNarratives of Autism and Skilled Employment to Inform Future Intervention \nPresenter:  Pr. Dora Raymaker\, Ph.D.\, Portland State University \nDora Raymaker\, PhD is an Assistant Research Professor at the Portland State University’s Regional Research Institute\, and co-directs the Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education (AASPIRE\, http://aaspire.org). She is an intervention researcher with particular interest in community-engaged practices\, accessible technology\, measurement adaptation and knowledge translation\, and dynamics at the intersection of science\, society\, and public policy. Dr. Raymaker primarily conducts research in collaboration with disability communities. \nDr. Raymaker will present a two-year study that uses a community based participatory research approach to understand the mechanisms of successful employment for employees on the autism spectrum in skilled or professional fields\, and to construct a model and intervention plan to improve employment outcomes. This seminar focuses on the year one findings from our qualitative interviews with autistic employees and job-seekers\, supervisors and supporters of autistic employees\, and a small number of key stakeholders within broader employment systems.
