SUMMARY:Parent + Teen Online Social Group (Meeting Online)
DESCRIPTION:Parent + Teen Online Social Group (online only) \nTo register and receive a Zoom link\, please CLICK HERE \nThe group meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30pm and is designed to support autistic teens with communication\, perspective taking\, and social skills in a fun and engaging Zoom environment. \nA schedule of planned activities provides structure and helps teens understand what to expect\, while partial scripts and sentence starters facilitate participation. The program is geared for those teens on the spectrum who need a parent\, guardian\, or caregiver to meet with success\, and some of the activities require participation from the accompanying adult. The activities include drawing with a tutorial\, dancing to favorite songs\, conversation starters and guessing games as well as watching movie and animation clips together plus much more. Activities\, songs and clips are chosen based on the participant’s ‘preferences. Suggestions and ideas from participants are welcomed! \nThe Teen + Parent group is led by Danitza Galvan\, who has a master’s degree in Early Intervention/Special Education and who is the parent of a teen on the autism spectrum. \nTo register and receive a Zoom link\, please CLICK HERE
