Laura Lee Mcintyre\, Ph.D.\, University of Oregon\nLaura Lee McIntyre\, PhD is Professor and Head of the Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences at the University of Oregon in Eugene. Her work focuses on early identification and treatment of autism and other developmental disabilities\, including interventions aimed at improving child and family well-being. Her presentation will discuss results from a NIH-funded randomized clinical trial of a behavioral parent training program for parents of young children with developmental delay.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 2017 NW Conference on Professional Development in Disability Services.\n\n\nWe chose the theme of Cultures of Quality to speak to where we hope to be in the I/DD support system. As we grapple with change and adapt to new expectations in many ways we have to look to and within ourselves to find the core of quality.\n\nThe opening keynote with Robin Rose\, an accomplished trainer\, speaker and consultant with a background in counseling and education\, translates the latest research into practical skills on how to stay calm\, professional and effective when under stress.\n\nWe also need tools\, knowledge and understanding to do our best work together\, and we have that in abundance in our agenda. SUMMARY:Understanding SSA Benefits and Employment (Salem)
DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for the Work Incentives Network’s Understanding SSA Benefits and Employment.   \nThe training dates are March 3\, June 26\, August 17\, and October 26. \nUnderstanding SSA Benefits and Employment is about benefits planning and work incentives programs. You will: \n• Learn about benefits basics and work incentives\n• Understand how people with disabilities can maintain their employment services and health benefits while working\n• Understand the limitations of what you know and what you can do \nThe training will be held at the DHS Cherry Avenue Training Center\, 3414 Cherry Avenue NE\, Suite 150\, Salem\, in the Fort Rock Room. \nThis day-long training (8:30-4:30) is free of charge. Trainers are Gene Rada and area Work Incentive Counselors. \nPre-registration is required and enrollment is limited to 30 for each session.  \nRegistration is through the iLearnOregon. Please click here to access the website: registration or enter https:/ilearn.oregon.gov into your web browser.  \nYou will need to create an account if you haven’t used the iLearn system before. It’s a new registration program for our training.
