DESCRIPTION:Presented by OSAC & ODHS \nThe Self Advocate Guide to I/DD Services Training Series \nThe Oregon Self Advocacy Coalition (OSAC) is working with the Office of Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS). Together\, we are leading a 5-week online training with self advocates across Oregon. The training is about the Self-Advocate Guide to I/DD Services. It is for self-advocates and the people who support them. \nEach session is one hour long. Self-advocate trainers will walk through the guide with staff from OSAC and ODDS. Each week\, we will talk about one chapter: \n\nAdvocating for yourself – March 19\, 2026\, 3–4 PM\nIntroduction to I/DD services – March 26\, 2026\, 3–4 PM\nOregon Needs Assessment (ONA) – April 2\, 2026\, 3–4 PM\nIndividual Support Plan (ISP) meetings – April 9\, 2026\, 3–4 PM\nYour rights and disagreements in I/DD services – April 16\, 2026\, 3–4 PM\n\nWe hope you can come to all five sessions. DESCRIPTION:Presented by The Autism Society of Oregon \n(Online) Support and Discussion Group for Autistic Adults – Thursday Edition\, age 18 + Meets online every Thursday\, from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. \nThe purpose of this group is to cultivate a safe\, affirming space to process and discuss what it’s like to be autistic in the world. \nWe will be reviewing books\, talking about neurodiversity\, and openly talking about life on the spectrum in general. \nThe group is facilitated by Lisa Sawyer\, an Autistic adult and a peer. Lisa is an active volunteer in the community\, having worked many years in homeless services and peer support for adults. In this group\, we strive to foster connection\, have open dialogue in all areas that challenge and support us\, making this a shared journey – never a solo one – in a safe and welcoming community. \nRegister for the Thursday group at the LINK HERE. \nFor more information contact Lori Ball at LoriB@autismsocietyoregon.org or 503-636-1676. \nThese support groups are intended to create a safe environment for Autistic adults\, whether formally diagnosed or not.
