Support Groups & Activities:

Adults with Asperger’s Support Group (Salem). 
Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Faith Annex, Salem Alliance Church, 555 Gaines St. NE, Salem OR  97301. Share encouragement and “tools” for everyday life. For adults with Asperger’s and supportive family members. Moms of Hope (Salem)- meets Thursdays from 9:15 am-11:00 am at Salem Alliance Church, 555 Gaines St NE, Salem, OR 97301.  Meetings are held during the school year only, and are for mothers of any special needs child.  For more information, contact Melody Swift at 503-836-1044 or click here to email.

Special Blessings (Salem)- meets the 1st Monday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm at Salem Evangelical Church, 455 Locust St NE, Salem, OR on the 2nd floor of the Children's Center (park on 4th St, in the lot next to the main church building).  "A faith-based community support group for parents of Special Needs Children of all ages and disabilities."  Children are welcome and childcare is provided. Support group for families with a child with ASD (up through 8th grade). Hosted by the HEART Institute, it will be held the 1st Wednesday of the month, from 7 - 8:30 pm. Child care can be provided upon request. For more information, please click here to contact Sarah Weber by email.


Activity Night (Dallas)
The Arc of Polk County hosts a free activity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their providers and family to come gather and have fun playing board games, crafts, movies, whatever you'd like. Bring a snack to share, and we'll provide the beverages.  2nd Tuesday of every month, 6:00-7:30pm. Dance (Dallas): The Arc of Polk County presents an evening of music and dancing for teens and adults with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 2nd & 4th Fridays of every month. Polk County Academy Building Gym, 182 SW Academy Street, Dallas, OR. Admission: $3.00 (Staff, parents and providers free).

Karaoke (Dallas)2nd and 4th Fridays of every month, 6:30-8:30 pm, 182 SW Academy St., Room 108 (Next to Gym), Dallas, OR. For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their family and friends. $3.00 per individual and no charge for family or staff. Snacks & beverages are available for an additional $1 each. Call (503) 949-5552. This is not a supervised event.

Open Swim Time (Dallas) at Dallas Aquatic Center for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities of any age or group affiliation. Every Wednesday from 4:15-5:15 pm. $3.50 for the individual and NO charge for their care provider. (A lifeguard will be on duty, buy individuals are required to have supervision if necessary).

Parent Support Group in Polk County (Dallas), held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 320 Fir Villa Road, Dallas, OR 97338.
