Swindells Center is part of an exciting partnership with several other agencies and organizations that serve children with special needs. Over the years we have received several requests for support groups for typical siblings of children with special needs. We are pleased to announce that we are part of an effort to offer Sibshops here locally.
Sibshops is a nationwide sibling support opportunity that meets quarterly and offers fun activities for siblings as well as introspective activities. Sibshops acknowledge that being the brother or sister of a person with special needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in-between. They reflect a belief that brothers and sisters have much to offer one another — if they are given a chance. Sibshops are a spirited mix of new games (designed to be unique, off-beat, and appealing to a wide ability range), new friends, and discussion activities.
An informational panel for Parents about Sibshops is scheduled for:

6:00pm – 8:00pm
