THUR., MAY 21 - SUN., MAY 24

Portland welcomes Elizabeth Vosseller, SLP and RPM specialist from Northern Virginia! Elizabeth will be working with Portland Metro clients ages 8 and up. Check out her blog at Growing Kids Therapy!

This workshop will provide families and professionals an opportunity to observe the RPM method with an experienced RPM specialist, as well as connect with local RPM coaches and families.

RPM (Rapid Prompting Method) is an educational and communication methodology that focuses on organizing sensory channels and motor coordination to better access thinking. It is a respectful approach that presumes competence and focuses on honoring and supporting individual differences. It is a successful approach for many individuals, but especially those on the spectrum who are "locked in," "not talking," and/or speak but are not able to communicate reliably.

For professionals: The May workshop offers professionals observation hours from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Observers will join together in an open classroom setting where they will see live streaming of Elizabeth’s work with her clients. This provides a unique experience in which all participants are able to meet one another and quietly reflect and discuss with each other about the things they are seeing! On Saturday, Elizabeth is offering a teaching day during which she will go over how RPM works and answer questions. The cost for observation is $75/day; teaching day fee is $75; or $200 for all access to all four days.
