United Cerebral Palsy’s Family Support announces a new training:

Help! My Child is a Picky Eater!

Date: Thursday, November 7, 2013
Location: Clackamas Sheriff’s Training Center
12700 SE 82nd Avenue, Clackamas
Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Meal time a challenge? Does your child seem to eat only a few things? Or maybe it’s that no matter what you make, it isn’t any good, but Grandma can do no wrong? This workshop explores the nature of selective eating – picky eating – for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. I will share strategies, tools, and a tiny bit of the science behind them to reduce the stress at your family meals.

At the end of this presentation participants will be able to:

 Use the table, “progressing through textures” to determine appropriate food textures for oral motor skills.

 Describe when to consult with a speech pathologist or other health care professional when choosing textures.

 Understand the impact of sensory dysfunction on food selection for.

 Use the Food A-like process to choose “next foods” to taste.

 Apply visual and kinesthetic techniques to expanding food choices.

 Describe what next step they will take in applying the division of responsibility to their family meal times.

This is a FREE training for ALL

Please RSVP if you plan to attend, as attendance and childcare space are both limited. RSVP to: Susan Cushman, scushman@ucpaorwa.org or 503-467-0332
