The next concert in our Sensory-Friendly Family Concert Series will feature vocalist Rebecca Kilgore on December 13 at 3pm.  Rebecca is one of America’s leading song stylists and interpreters of the Great American Songbook. She regularly performs worldwide at jazz festivals, is a frequent guest on National Public Radio’s ‘Fresh Air’ with Terry Gross, has appeared on ‘A Prairie Home Companion’, and with Michael Feinstein at Carnegie Hall.  Joining Rebecca will be some of Portland’s top talent:  David Evans on saxophone, Randy Porter on piano, and Tom Wakeling on bass.

The concert is sensory-friendly (house lights up, reasonable volume, spacious seating, etc.).  It is a part of our monthly series on Saturday afternoons from 3-4pm.  The cost is only a suggested donation of $5/family, though families that cannot afford this are welcome to attend for free.  The concerts are happening at the Cedar Hills United Church of Christ (though there is no religious aspect to the concerts).  So far, here is what we have scheduled:

January 17 - Julianne R. Johnson
February 7 - George Colligan
March 14 - Nancy Curtin
April 11 - Michal Angela Wilson
